Exchange Pavilion Receives Dual Design Honors from AIA Los Angeles and SDAF

We are honored to share that the Exchange Pavilion has been recognized with two significant design awards, affirming its impact as a civic installation and public gathering space across borders.

The Exchange Pavilion has received a Citation Design Award from AIA Los Angeles in the Cityscapes / Installations category. This recognition celebrates projects that meaningfully contribute to the public realm through design excellence, cultural relevance, and urban engagement. The Pavilion was also named an Orchid Award Winner for Public Art by the San Diego Architectural Foundation as part of the Orchids & Onions program. The Orchid Award recognizes design that elevates the built environment and contributes positively to public experience.

These honors highlight the pavilion’s role in merging architecture, structure, art, light, and community use into a singular spatial experience. The pavilion can now be visited permanently in Tijuana’s Parque Esperanto. Read The Times of San Diego article written by Dirk Sutro covering the Orchid Award Winners below.
